Chief Umana Okon Umana and Sharon Ikeazor were among the 13 persons approved by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday to run Federal Government agencies.
Umana Okon was the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State in the 2015 election. He was also for several years the secretary to the Akwa Ibom state government.
Ikeazor, University of Benin alumna, was a legal officer of the party.
Mr Bolaji Adebiyi, the Director of Press in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) announced the appointments in a statement in Abuja today.
Umana Okon Umana will head the Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority as managing director, while Sharon Ikeazor will be the CEO of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate.
Others appointed are Mr Joseph Ari, Director-General, Industrial Training Fund; Dr Isa Ibrahim, Director-General, National Information Technology Development Agency, and Mr Simbi Wabote, Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Monitoring Board.
Mr Aboloma Anthony will be Director-General, Standards Organisation of Nigeria; Mr Mamman Amadu, Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement, Princess Akodundo Gloria, National Coordinator, New Partnership for Africa’s Development; Alhaji Ahmed Bobboi, Executive Secretary, Petroleum Equalization Fund, Sa’adiya Faruq, Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons; and Usman Abubakar, Chairman, Nigeria Railway Corporation.
Also appointed are Dr Bello Gusau, Executive Secretary, Petroleum Technology Development Fund; and Yewande Sadiku, Executive Secretary, National Investment Promotion Commission.
It is expected that President Buhari will also this week constitute some of the boards of Federal agencies.
