Senator Dino Melaye, the lawmaker representing Kogi West, has lamented his travails under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.
The lawmaker, who decried his alleged maltreatment under the Buhari government, pointed out that he was never framed up for fighting the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan.
Melaye stated this in an Instagram post on Sunday while sharing some photographs of himself and some youths protesting against alleged corruption under the immediate past administration.
“I was never framed up for fighting Jonathan.Never arraigned! Aluta continua victoria asata,” he wrote.
Melaye, who is currently involved in a face-off with the Nigeria Police Force, was reported to had jumped off a police van in Abuja, while being conveyed to Lokoja to face criminal charges.
The lawmaker subsequently developed health challenges and was admitted at the National Hospital in Abuja.
After receiving treatment for some days, the police had taken Melaye to Lokoja, where he was arraigned on a stretcher over alleged unlawful possession of arms alongside two others in Kogi State.
The Kogi Chief Justice, however, ordered the lawmaker to be remanded in police custody and be returned to the National Hospital in Abuja.
However, the Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja, on Wednesday granted Melaye bail.
The Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajana admitted Melaye to bail in the sum of N10m with one surety. The bail was granted on health grounds.
