In the early hours of Friday, five police officers were tragically killed in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State.
According to sources in the area, the unfortunate incident occurred around 5am at Ebyia bridge, along Hilltop/Nwoke road.
Meanwhile, residents of Hilltop/ Nwoke road in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have called on relevant authorities to beef up security in the area. The call followed the killing of five police personnel at a checkpoint in the area by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Friday.
