Recently the waiver of TAXES for low-income earners in Imo state has continued to get more attention all over the states and is ready to yield good landing to Improve Imo Youths.

The original copy of the NWADIKE reads as follows:

One of the testimonies of a godly, compassionate, empathetic, sympathetic and people-oriented leader in any executive position is to grant tax holidays for indigent categories of the citizens, whenever possible and necessary.

In the Bible, when God commanded Moses to build the Tabernacle in the Wilderness, He directed that Israelites should make contributions and donations of their relevant material resources. It was a sort of tax. And the people of God happily and joyfully obeyed.

However, it got to the point where Moses had to announce a stop to the contributions and donations because more than enough had been gathered. In modern times of this generation, that was a tax rebate and relief of a kind.

For such humane acts of humanity, Moses was rated a very good leader, who understood the circumstances and yearnings of the people and appropriately reacted and responded to them.

In Imo State, Southeast Nigeria, there is a leader, known as Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma. He’s the incumbent action governor of the 45-year old State. He’s doing well. He has proved to have an abundance of the milk of human kindness flowing from his very large heart.

Just recently, Governor Uzodimma magnanimously directed that a stop be put to the deductions of taxes from low-income earners, that earn N70, 000 and below in Imo State.

That display of love, compassion and understanding of the precarious predicament of the downtrodden in the State speaks volumes about the desire of Governor Uzodimma to institute better life for Ndimo.

The economic meltdown of the past few years, with the Covid-19 pandemic, insecurity, and global bad economy, etcetera worsening the pains and pangs of the excruciating situation, rising higher and higher the cost of living in the State, the provision of palliative and relief packages becomes very much needed by the ordinary common masses.

Significantly, Governor Uzodimma has ensured that Imo State and Imo people continue to benefit from various federal government measures designed to cushion the harsh effects of the economic meltdown.

The tax waiver that was recently approved and declared by the governor is a monumental relief package for low-income earners that constitute over 70% of verified Imo workers.

Little wonder encomiums have been poured on Governor Uzodimma from well-meaning Imolites, who understand and appreciate the good thoughts and thinking the governor has for Ndimo, as manifested in the tax relief for the indigents.

The gesture would no doubt enhance the purchasing power of the beneficiaries and engender an increase in their standards of living, their welfare and those of their families.

That would also reflect positively on the economic activities of the State, as increases in the patronage of goods and services will inevitably ensue. That’s adequately supported by the basic principles of economics. With tax rebates comes a litany of positive economic engineering at both macro and micro levels.

We join the good people of Imo State in congratulating Governor Hope Uzodimma on this occasion of his outpouring of love and mercy on the people of Imo State. May God keep blessing him for all the good he’s doing for Ndimo. To God be the glory! The world is watching! NWADIKE prayed.
