Governor Hope Uzodinma has moved with serious action and total readiness to tackle Akwakuma and Egbeada Flooding in Owerri Imo state Nigeria.

9News Nigeria Owerri reports that following the success of the Balloon Technology drainage system put in place by the Imo State Government under Uzodinma’s administration and the peace of mind it has given to the residents of Dick Tiger street and Chukwuma Nwaoha, the Governor is set to replicate the same project, in another part of the Owerri.

Our source who visited the scene on an inspection with the governor noted that this time around, it is the time to tackle the heavy flooding in Akwakuma and Egbeada axis, which has, for so many years, been displacing residents of the area, whenever the rainy season sets in.

However, the determination to get that project up and running necessitated that the Governor put a hold on the Akwakuma junction Urban renewal project, to enable the erosion control measure to be done before the junction works are completed.

It is noteworthy that for years, the Akwakuma – Hardel Junction road has not only been in a derelict state but also been subject of lip-service and whitewashing, despite being an economic road, in the State, as it leads to the Umuonyeali building materials market.

It is the hope of Imolites to see to its possible completion to enable the users of this road to have a sigh of relief.

Residents within the Egbeada market and environs have criticized the abandonment of this busy road by previous administrations and thanked governor Uzodinma for remembering to do the re-construction work.
