A former MILITARY ADMINISTRATOR OF IMO STATE, 1996-1999, col Tanko Zubairu has passed unto glory.
The news of his death came as a shock after brief ill health.
9News Nigeria reports that Late Zubairu was the governor of Imo state during the uproar in Owerri in owerri which led to the burning of
ALLEGED CON MEN AND RITUALISTS IN THE STATE.
Recall that the then Otokoto saga happened during his administration as the military administrator of Imo state 1996-1999.
The schedule of his Burial will soon be released by his family during which plans will be set to give him a memorial burial.
His death took place a few days after the remains of the late Ndubuisi Kanu was received at the state capital via sam Mbakwe airport Owerri.

Colonel Tanko Zubairu was the Military Administrator of Imo State Nigeria from August 1996 until May 1999 when he handed over to the elected civilian governor Achike Udenwa.
During his tenure, he had to deal with violent protests over ritual killings. In 1997 he signed warrants for execution by firing squad of six men accused of this crime.
It is a sad moment to the family and a great loss to the country while we wait to get more facts for confirmation proper.
