Vice President Kashim Shettima joined Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, along with other mourners attend the funeral prayer of Alhaji Ahmed Ali Ahmed, the late Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in Borno State.
The funeral was held on Monday in Maiduguri.
It was led by Imam Laisu Ibrahim, the Chief Imam of Borno, who conducted the rites attended by a large gathering of mourners.
Alhaji Ahmed Ali Ahmed passed away in his sleep on Monday at his residence in Maiduguri at the age of 42.
He is survived by his wife, two children, an elderly mother, and several siblings.
Until his untimely death, Alhaji Ahmed served as Borno’s Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development.
He had a distinguished career at Zenith Bank Plc, where he worked for over 17 years, rising to the rank of Deputy Manager before entering politics.
The funeral was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Shehu Abubakar ibn Umar Al-Amin Elkanemi, the Shehu of Borno.
Also in attenders were APC Deputy National Chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, Members of the House of Representatives, Borno APC Chairman, Bello Ayuba, and Members of the Borno State House of Assembly.
Similarly, members of the Borno State Executive Council, led by Alhaji Bukar Tijani, the Secretary to the Borno State Government, were in attendance, along with other members of the political class and senior government officials, to pay their last respects to the late commissioner.
