Youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Seun Kuti, popular Nigerian artiste has recently called for a law against intimidation by cultists across the country.
He made this call as a result of the death of singer, Mohbad, whose demise had sparked speculations and controversies of cultism and affiliations in the entertainment industry.
In reaction to the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death on his Instagram handle, he opined that Mohbad’s death was cult associated.
He added that the menace of cultism and its activities had long been in existence and an affliction to the coming generation.
According to his post, “When I was locked up numerous police officers and their ogas told me their different cultist affiliation thinking I was one of them so they could help me, even the police are cultists. Now u are asking cultist to investigate cultists. #getthesax.”
He then charged legislators to take immediate action by making imposing laws against cultism and its follower-ship, noting that if not addressed, it an would erode the future generations.
“A nation of cowards!! We need a MOHBAD Law against cultist intimidation in all our institutions. Anything short of that is nothing!! The National Assembly must do this monumental work to protect future generations from this scourge. #mohbadlaw”, he said.
