Following Pastor Chris Okafor’s public apology to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, a woman who identified herself as Agnes Bismaark Okafor has come forward, disputing the sincerity of the apology and laying fresh claims about her past relationship with the clergyman.
Speaking during a livestream, Agnes Okafor, who described herself as Pastor Chris Okafor’s former wife, said the apology delivered from the pulpit on Sunday was not genuine and was aimed at controlling public backlash rather than addressing the truth.
According to her, she had remained silent for over 14 years but felt compelled to speak after her name was allegedly dragged into ongoing controversies involving the pastor and Doris Ogala.
“I’ve kept quiet for 14 years. He knows there’s a whole lot of him. It’s really a shame,” she said.
“You cannot be having children everywhere and then think you can do damage control with my name. There was no genuine apology from what I saw.”
Agnes further alleged that her relationship with Pastor Chris Okafor was not informal or secretive, stressing that they were properly married.
“This man took me in my prime as a wife, not as a side relationship. We wedded traditionally, and we also had a wedding,” she stated.
Her comments come amid a growing public dispute triggered by Doris Ogala’s earlier allegations that Pastor Chris Okafor offered her $10,000 to retract claims she had made against him. Doris had also alleged attempts to influence her narrative regarding the controversy, claims that have since drawn police attention and public scrutiny.
The unfolding drama has continued to generate intense debate on social media, with conflicting accounts from all parties involved, as questions mount over the pastor’s conduct, the authenticity of his apology, and the broader implications for religious leadership and accountability.
