Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Thursday vowed to resist all acts of intimidation and harassment by the Department of State Security (DSS).
The group faulted the list of 38 alleged IPOB members both in Nigeria and the Diaspora, declared wanted by the secret police.
In a statement issued by IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Mr Emma Powerful, the group claimed that the DSS in Abuja recently listed the names of IPOB members and Biafrans, including the wife of its leader Mrs Uchechi Okwu Kanu, as wanted people.
The IPOB statement read in part: “The DSS is trailing unarmed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) including the wife of our leader, Mrs Uchechi Okwu Kanu, who is in London nursing a new born baby, to be killed through suffocation, when they should be arresting Fulani terrorists who disguised as herdsmen that rear cattle to unleash terror on innocent villagers all over the South East and South-South states.
“The list as released by DSS through its headquarters in Abuja includes Sunday Onyekachi, Ogechukwu Obiorah, Ann Okafor, Amaechi Sunday Kanu, Dickson Ekene, Ndidi Ojukwu, Emma Powerful, Emma Nmezu, Uchechi Kanu (Nnamdi Kanu’s wife) and Sidney Okoli.
“Others included in the list are, Andy Obeche, Ifriam Ezeiwu, Chukwuemeka Mfon, Ikenna Sunday Egonu, Chijioke Ekwueme, Godwin Osinachi, Udoka Amarachi, Uche Martin Doludo, Nduka Enuma, Ambrose Ero, Clifford Mbamere, Andy Obina Okafor, Stephen Oko, Onyeka Joseph and Eric with no surname.
