The Leopards of Benin Republic on Tuesday thrashed Lesotho 4:0, and the Coach Gernot Rohr is now eyeing a place in the next World Cup.
Head coach of Benin Republic, Gernot Rohr, is optimistic that his team can qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

The Leopards are currently second in Group C with 14 points, three fewer than leaders South Africa.
With only two fixtures left to play, Benin have a strong chance of securing a place either as a group winners If they can topple Bafana Bafana, or as one of the best-ranked runner-up.
“There are two games left and anything is still possible. With 14 points now, we have the chance to finished first in the group, but also to be among the best runner-up, Rohr said.
“We absolutely must continue on this path. The team has become balanced, It is no longer concedes goals. It fights together.
“We remain hopeful without falling into excessive optimism. We know it will be difficult. We know Rwanda, we have already beaten Nigeria here So yes, anything is possible”.

The Leopards have been one of the surprise packages in the World Cup Qualifiers, as they sit in their group, three points behind South Africa.
With just two games left in the series, Benin have good shot at nicking an unprecedented ticket to the United States of America, but they also need South Africa to drop a points too.
However, despite difficulty of the task, former Super Eagles tactician is optimistic that his team have a good chance and will give their all when they play the last game qualifiers next month.
The Leopards have two more games against Rwanda and Nigeria’s Super Eagles next month.
Gernot Rohr is no stranger to qualifying for the FIFA World Cup.
Rohr took Nigeria to 2018 edition in Russia, but they were knocked out in the group stage.
He is the last coach to qualify the Super Eagles for the World Cup.
