The Presidential Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo, has alleged that Nigeria’s government is infiltrated at the highest, middle and lower levels.
Adewole made the allegation on Wednesday while questioning the accountability surrounding security votes reportedly used by some state governors to negotiate with kidnappers.
“The government is infiltrated at the highest level, middle level and low level. When a Governor says he’s spent N3 billion for security vote to pay kidnappers, you won’t ask the Governor for receipt or signature of the kidnappers,” he said.
He questioned the absence of verifiable documentation for such payments, arguing that the handling of security votes requires more transparency and accountability.
