Wolverhampton wanderers have parted ways with manager Vitor Pereira with the club bottom of Premier League and out of Carabao Cup, Portuguese’s dismissal comes after 3-0 defeat at Fulham.
The 57-year-old tactician departure comes 45 days after he signed for a new three-year contract at Molineux.
The decision was confirmed on Saturday following poor run of form that has left the club struggle for consistency this season.
“Upon his arrival at Molineux last December, Pereira and his coaches made an immediate impact, guiding the team to a successful second half of the Premier League campaign.
“However, results and performances this term have fallen below acceptable standards, and as a result, a change in leadership was deemed necessary”, said the statement.
According to reports, the club’s hierarchy decided to act swiftly as they look to stabilize results before the busy winter period.
An interim manager is expected to be named soon while Wolves begin the search for a permanent replacement.
