The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has said that his government would complete and commission several mega projects this year.
The projects includes the long awaited Potiskum Truck Transit Park, which the governor said is 90% completed, among others.
Buni said this in the state capital, Damaturu during the executive council meeting on Wednesday.
Also the maiden council meeting for the year 2025, the meeting featured review of programs in the preceding year.
According to a release signed by the state commissioner of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Abdullahi Bego, the governor said that the state government was able to execute many projects and programmes that have positive impacts on the lives Yobepeople.
He noted that the projects cut across healthcare, agriculture, education, road construction, empowerment and other sectors.
However, 9News Nigeria has observed that the projects to be commissioned this year are mostly economically driven initiatives.
Some of the projects are four modern markets situated at Potiskum, Yunusari and Geidam local government areas, as well as one in Ngalda, a community under Fika Local Government Area of the state.
Buni also disclosed in the meeting that they have already built four modern Sesame seeds processing factories in Machina, Nguru, Potiskum and Damaturu, ready for commissioning.
On human capital development, Buni said the government has made significant efforts in 2024, reaching out to many people across the state with various forms of support.
It can be recalled earlier that Yobe government has provided cash assistant to market men and women in the state.
It was reported that the beneficiaries gets N200,000 or more as incentives to boost their capital and enhance local economic activities in the state.
Other notable projects discussed in the meeting where roads, healthcare facilities and educational programs.
