A fire outbreak has devastated Bayan Tasha, a popular business area in Yobe State’s capital, Damaturu on Tuesday morning.
The fire has destroyed several shops and properties worth millions of Naira.
Although the caused of the fire has not been established yet, the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA) in it’s preliminary findings, noted that the fire outbreak started in the early hours of Yesterday, around 3AM.
YOSEMA revealed that about 65 shops and stalls, belonging to 105 individuals were affected by the fire.
However, the agency noted that further investigations and assessments are ongoing to determine the full scale of the damage and identify urgent relief measures.
