The Oduduwa Peoples Union has urged Sunday Adeyemi Aka Igboho to turn himself to security agents to render account for the high profile weapons found on his property in Ibadan.
The department of state security last month confirmed the search on Igbohos house .
“In a swift reaction , leader of the the Oduduwa Peoples Union(OPU) Chief Adebayo Lawal said, the right to self determination and restructuring can not be exploited to the detriment of the entire nation.
” When individuals decide to personalise calls for restructuring and turn same into a merchandise, stockpilling arms and amnunitons and leading violent protests, you don’t expect the security agencies to look the other way” lives and property have been lost by the the activities of these violent agitators’
As residents of the region and citizens of this country , we agree that this is an opportunity for Igboho to present his case for self determination if indeed it was for the interest of the masses”
“Our advice is for him to turn up and give a proper account of his activities , this is the least that any self styled activist should shy away from”
” Why would he be on the run? Why would anyone agitating for his people stockpile weapons ? This are questions that only Igboho can answer ” he should turn himself up. Oduduwa Union insisted.
The union said it had never lost confidence in the security agents capacity to maintain law and order and urged stakeholders to lend their voice in urging Sunday Adeyemi to surrender to appropriate authorities.
