Ahead of the Legacy Conference hosted by the Mandela Washington Alumni Association of Nigeria, scheduled for tomorrow in Abuja, Honorable Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande received the Secretary General of the Pan African Youth Union (PYU), Mr. Benin Ahmed and other key youth leaders in Abuja.
During the meeting, Mr. Ahmed requested that Nigeria consider hosting the African Regional Office of the PYU and the Commonwealth Youth Council Secretariat, and also the commitment of the youth Minister to Pan-Africanism. In the same vein, John Oladimeji Nihi, Vice President (West Africa) of the PYU, commended the Minister’s proactive engagements, noting that such interface has helped to enhance the participation of a broad section of youth in the decision making process.Also, the President of Mandela Washington Alumni Association of Nigeria, Ms. Farida Yahaya expressed gratitude to the Minister for his unwavering support.
She appreciated the Minister for assisting in bringing together youth leaders from across Africa.
The high-profile event will welcome over 100 delegates from across Africa, fostering collaboration for a stronger and more innovative continent.In response, the Minister reaffirmed his dedication to youth-led initiatives across the continent, emphasizing innovation and skills development as critical tools for Africa’s transformation.
He reiterated that by working together, the youth of Africa can shape a stronger, inclusive, and innovative continent, led by the boundless potential of its youth.
