Zulum Appoints Acting DG For SEMA

The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, has appointed a new Director General for the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

He approved the appointment on Wednesday, as disclosed by his spokesman, Dauda Iliya in a statement in Maiduguri.

According to Iliya, the new DG, Ali Abdullahi Isa, would serve in an acting capacity.

Mr. Abdullahi is a civil servants and has served in the state government for over 30 years.

Starting his career as an Audit Assistant in 1991, he rose to the rank of Chief Administrative Officer Audit and later posted to Government House as Assistant Director of Administration in 2017.

Until his appointment, he was the Director of Research and Statistics at the SEMA.

Governor Zulum has urged Mr. Abdullahi to use his wealth of experience to steer the agency’s affairs for the benefit of Borno people.

While congratulating him, the governor also extends gratitude to the outgoing DG, Dr. Barkindo Mohammed Saidu, for his service to Borno and directs him to immediately report to the office of the Head of Service.
