Residents of Borno State are getting much-needed relief as Governor Babagana Umara Zulum launches 20 electric buses to reduce the burden of rising petrol prices.
The modern, air-conditioned buses can travel up to 400km on a single charge, offering a cleaner and more efficient transport option.
With fares subsidized to just N50 per drop, commuters -especially students, civil servants, and traders – are already benefiting from cheaper and more comfortable travel.

The effort add to the current mix of buses and cars powered by combustion engines that were bought by Zulum administration to improve city travel.
This intervention is already making a difference, leading to less crowding of terminals and better access for vulnerable growth.
The initiative is part of a broader push to promote green energy and upgrade public transportation in the state, marking a major step towards sustainable mobility.
