Agrees to stand with its resolutions ahead of the 2022 State, LGA & Ward Congresses.

The Anambra South PDP Expanded Executives and Stakeholders has earlier today, the 12th of February 2022 met to deliberate on issues concerning the party executives positions zoned  to the senatorial district at Chunique Hotel & suits in Nnewi ahead of the upcoming State Congress.

The meeting which started with an opening prayer said by the state Woman Leader Mrs Justina Nwafor, followed by the presentation of kola-nut by the Zonal Chairman, Chief E.C. Ebene while the breaking of Cola-nut was done by Prince Samben Nwosu as son of the soil.

The Anambra South zonal meeting took shape after a brief opening remark and the mentioning of the agenda of the meeting which centered on the micro-zoning of state executives positions zoned to Anambra South  by the PDP  Vice chairman of the zone Chief Ebene and his subsequent hand over to Mr Valentine Ozigbo (the 2021 Anambra PDP Governorship candidate) to continue the proceddings of the meeting.

Mr Valentine Ozigbo, who took the microphone to thank members of  the expanded executives & stakeholders who made out time to attend today’s meeting. He went further to give members the opportunity to air their views on the best way by which the zone will achieve a successful micro-zoning of its positions as zoned by the party’s leadership in the State.

Mr Val Ozigbo went ahead to list the positions available for the zone and thereafter allowed members from various local governments in the zones to suggest ways by which micro-zoning would be achieved successfully.

Reactions came from various stakeholders & executives of the party in all the seven local government that made up the Anambra South Senatorial District and thereafter the party optioned for a standing committee that will in turn micro-zone the available state executive positions among the local government areas in the zone and report back to the house after 10 munites.

The seven man micro-zoning committee was as follows:

1. Chief Ken emekayi, Ihiala- Chairman.
2. Rt. Hon Eucharia Azodo, Aguata – Member.
3. Rt. Hon Onyebuchi Ofor,  Ekwusigo – Member.
4. Hon Johnbosco Akaegbobi,  Nnewi South – Member.
5. Chief Ezenwankwo  Orumba North.
6. Amb. ThankGod, Orumba South – Member.
7. Prince Samben Nwosu, Nnewi North – Secretary.

The Micro-Zoning Committee went into a standing meeting and returned nearly 1 hour to submit its report for final adoption by the house.

The Chairman of the Micro-zoning Committee Chief Ken Emekayi (Fmr PDP State Chairman) presented the members of the committee to the house, stressing that they rose with a United resolution.

In turn the secretary micro- zoning committee Prince Samben Nwosu (Fmr State Secretary) went ahead to read out the Committee’s Resolution which states thus:

1. The Committee considered the local government that were marginalized in the past.

2. The Committee resolved to share the five principal positions for the zone among the seven local government areas.

3. The Committee also resolved to consider those local government areas marginalized in the last four years with double state executives positions.

4. The committee arrived with the following state executives positions for various local government areas:

i. Nnewi North : Woman Leader

ii. Aguata:  Secretary & Asst. Woman leader iii.

iii. Ihiala: Vice Chairman & Asst. Treasurer ii.

IV. Nnewi South: Pub. Sec. & Ex-officio

V. Orumba North: Fin. Sec. & Ex-officio

Vi. Orumba South: Asst Legal Adviser & Asst. Treasurer.

Vii. Ekwusigo: Assistant Youth leader & Asst Org. Secretary.

Mr Val Ozigbo thanked the committee for its report and also resolved after arguments ensued in the house on the micro-zoning report that the Anambra South executives should go into per head voting count to decide on the micro-zoning report.

The total number of Anambra South executive members as accredited for voting were 45 in numbers.

29 members voted in favor of adoption of the micro-zoning report while 15 members voted against the micro-zoning report.

Barr Obiora Okonkwo, the chairman of  Orumba North LGA moved a motion for the adoption of the micro-zoning report and was seconded by Barr S.I Okonkwo from Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

The meeting ended with few other motions which concerns the next state chairman position after the upcoming congressess as thus;
That 2023 Presidential campaign Co-ordinator and the next  State Chairman of party in subsequent tenure should come to Anambra South.

The house also agreed that any other executive list coming from anywhere in the zone other than what we agreed here today should not be accepted anywhere in PDP both National and State.

Rt Hon Chuma Nzeribe  thanked each and everyone present. He also informed us that Mr Val Ozigbo donated logistics for today’s meeting (N300,000) and thereafter moved a motion of adjournment, while Hon Mrs Cynthia Ezediora seconded the motion together with closing prayer to signal the end of the meeting.
