The African Democratic Congress has unveiled retired Rear Admiral Sanusi Kashim Ibrahim as one of its aspirants for the 2027 Borno State governorship election.
Ibrahim is from Maiduguri and retired from the Nigerian Navy in 2023 as a Rear Admiral.
During his career he served as Fleet Operations Officer, Eastern Fleet in Calabar.
He also served as Commander, Naval Base Port Harcourt.
Ibrahim was Director of Monitoring, Evaluation and Analysis at Naval Headquarters.
He served as Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command.
He was also Nigerian Navy Secretary.
Ibrahim attended primary school in Maiduguri and moved to Government Technical College, Damagum, where he obtained his WAEC certificate in 1983.
He graduated from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, in 1989 with a degree in Physics.
He later earned a master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the University of Ibadan in 2014.
He was conferred with the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic during his service.
