Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni visited Northeast Theatre Training School in Buni Yadi following insurgent attacks in area.
The visit, on Tuesday, was a gesture of sympathy to families of soldiers killed and those injured in attack.
Governor Buni, represented by Deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, praised dedication, resilience, and sacrifices of Nigerian Army in fight against insurgency.
He reaffirmed safety and security of Yobe residents remain priority of government.He pledged support for military operations.
Buni extended condolences to families of deceased soldiers, particularly those who died in Buni Yadi attack while urging the troops to remain steadfast in duties.
“We will continue to provide resources and support to ensure success,” he assured troops.
The governor called on Buni Yadi residents to remain vigilant and support military and security agencies by reporting movements, noting that security is a collective responsibility.
During visit, deputy governor donated cash support to families of deceased soldiers.
He also donated cash support to personnel who sustained injuries.
Responding, Commandant of Northeast Theatre Training School, Brigadier General AC Aunaogu, briefed the deputy governor on the incident.
Describing it as challenging, he urged the state government to continue taking measures when needed.
Aunaogu commended Yobe State Government for commitment and support to troops in fight against insurgency.
The governor’s delegation included Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa Shehu and Hon. Aji Yerima Bularafa.
Others are Special Adviser on Security Matters Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (Rtd), Special Advisers on Livestock and Humanitarian Affairs Hon. Ahmed Mirwa and Alhaji Yahaya Inuwa Barde attended visit.
