28-Year-Old Akarachi Wins Federal Constituency Seat In Imo

A 28-year- old candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Akarachi Amadi has been declared winner of Saturday’s Supplementary election for the Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency in IMO state by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC candidate received most votes, according to the results announced by the Federal Constituency Returning Officer, Professor Boniface Okoro, at the collation center for that district, which is located in Nworuibi in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo state.

Okoro said that Uche Ugbuagu of the Labour Party (LP), Amadi’s closest competitor, received 18,296 votes below Amadi’s 21,372 total votes.

The incumbent and candidate of the Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Henry Nwawuba, received 7,202 votes, Usmond Ukanacho, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), received 4,100 votes, and Godstime Chukwubuikem, the candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), received 246 votes.
