4,556 corps members begin orientation in Abuja

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sworn in 4,556 corps members deployed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for the 2024 Batch A stream 2 orientation camp.

The oath of allegiance was performed on Tuesday by the Chief Justice (CJ) of the FCT, Justice Hussaini Baba Yusuf, who was represented byJustice Yusuf Halidu.

The FCT Coordinator of the corps, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka said 4,556 corps members were duly registered for the orientation, comprising 1831 male and 2725 females.

The Coordinating advised the corps members to shun drug abuse, negative association and other vital anti-social acts and instead deploy their time for the promotion of national unity and development, noting that any form of negative behavior would not be tolerated.

She said further, “Always ays ensure you obtain an official permission before embarking on any journey outside the FCT, and always remember to cut short your trips from 6pm and ensure you have your authentic NYSC identification at all time”.
