The visit of the Anti Riot Squad ARS to HRH Eze Morrison Eke Ph.D on a routine duty as mobilized by the Imo state police command to protect Umuoma Police Divisional Headquarters from the attempted destruction by protesters was a clear attestation of the fact that no police station was burnt and Umuoma Nekede is peaceful.
This visit was scheduled few hours after an attempt to set the divisional headquarters ablaze by unidentified protesters who trooped out in their numbers and set ablaze an official police vehicle but was dispersed by the combatant police officers on duty.
Information revealed to 9News Nigeria has it that no Umuoma indigene was spotted in the drastic act.
The Nigeria Police Anti Riot Squad Of Imo State Police Command visited the palace of Omadike of Umuoma to assess the situation of youth protests in his community.
They used the opportunity to thank Eze Morrison Eke for the timely defensive intervention of his Town Union executives headed by the president general, Hon Uchenna Nwaneri in preventing the protesters from burning down the Nekede Police Division in his community.
The Police showered praises on Omadike and commended him for ever being the first and the only Eze who has so far visited the station to express solidarity in their efforts to maintain peace and order in this period of uncertainty.
The Eze cautioned the police never to use live bullets and harmful weapons on the youth protesters.
This visit was witnessed by 9News Nigeria on the spot as many community leaders were present at Omadike’s Palace at the courtesy visit.
