Senator Sam Daddy has enjoined the people of IKEDURU and the PDP LEADERS in Imo state TO BE LOYAL TO PARTY ethics and principles looking on to the winning of the year 2023 elections.
Anyanwu gave this admonition Thursday while addressing Ikeduru PDP stakeholders in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
Recall that Samuel Anyanwu was a onetime Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has vowed not to rest until the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was defeated in the 2023 general elections.
He however implored his party followers not to be part of any gang up capable of disintegrating the PDP, pointing out that all efforts must be made to bring back aggrieved members who left the party over claimed injustice meted out at them.
While addressing Ikeduru PDP stakeholders in Owerri, the capital of Imo State the Senator assured them of his resolve to contest election.
According to him, “the only party we can call our own is PDP, and there is need for leaders to show example by remaining loyal to the party. The era of internal crisis is over, every genuine member should rise and contribute for the development of the party not only in Ikeduru LGA and Owerri zone in particular, but Imo State in general”
Senator Anyanwu further appealed to those still keeping malice or acrimony against the party and its leadership to shelve their sword, maintaining that until everyone come together in unity, APC government would continue to use PDP for a ride.
He stated his readiness to transform the party to an enviable height, and warned those still fanning the ember of discord capable of reducing the party’s popularity and acceptance in the state to repent.
“We should understand one thing that a divided house cannot stand. We are all aware that the crisis that almost consumed our party has been resolved. Today, we have a PDP that belongs to everyone. Every issue of camp that nearly destroyed the party in the state has ended. All of us are today, under one big umbrella. I have forgiven those that betrayed me, and in that note, I beg everyone here to forgive me as well”
“Today, what we should be happy for and celebrate is that we have one formidable and revived PDP and nothing more. My dear brothers, sisters and party fateful, the only thing that can give our party victory is peace and unity. I don’t have any grudge whatsoever against anyone; I want to assure you that I am willing and ever ready to embrace all of us. Like you all know , I have never shied away from contributing my quota for the success of this party.”
“We must bear in mind that a divided house cannot make any progress. Let us come together and build this party that has afforded us the privilege to thrive. What is expected of us now is sincerity, dedication and commitment.” He stated.
Senator Anyanwu therefore commended leaders and members of PDP in Ikeduru LGA for their resilience and commitment to the party throughout the period the minor wrangling lasted, urging them to continue to sustain the tempo now that PDP has bounced back.
While charging them to sensitize the public on the need to join PDP, also urged them to remain their brother’s keeper.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of PDP in Ikeduru LGA, Hon Joe Ihemtuge and other leaders have applauded Senator Anyanwu on his avowed stand against APC’s bad governance in the country, describing him as a lone voice that has steadily championed the cause of PDP beyond the shores of Imo State.
Senator Anyanwu finally charged the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ikeduru LGA to remain loyal to the party, describing it as the only way PDP could secure victory in future elections.
This press release was signed by Ikenna Onuoha, special adviser SA (Media) to Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu.
