On September 30,2021 Ichie sir Izuchukwu Nwabueze, Ksc, Phf, Jp, received A Meritorious Award of ” AMBASSADOR FOR CHRIST” from the Postulants Students’ Union Government of Institute of Theology, Paul University, Awka. The theme of the occasion which was captioned ‘RESTORATION’ was Chaired by Chief Hon. Benson Anaje ( Ibide Nwa ka ibeya of Awka Kingdom ) with Dr. Godwin Maduka ( Okosisi Orumba) as the Special Guest of Honour. And Other notable dignitaries at the event were the Ven. Prof. Obiora Chukwuma ( Vice Chancellor, Paul University Awka), the Ven. Rex Chika Kanu PhD ( Director, Institute of Theology Paul University Awka), the Ven. Geoffrey Molokwu PhD ( Dean of Academic Affairs ), the Rev’d Canon Peter Ndubueze ( Dean Students Affairs ), the Rev’d Canon E C Nwogu ( Chaplain, Institute of Theology ) among other eminent personalities and Church Fathers.
The Award Conferrment came in confirmation of an earlier letter of the Award delivered to him on September 24,2021 by a twelve man delegation of the Postulants of the Institute of Theology Paul University Awka. Ichie Izuchukwu was accompanied to receive the Award by Ichie Emma Ogbuka Deputy leader of Cabinet Business, Igwe In-council Ukpo, Evang Chief Ikechukwu Okafor( Asst Secretary General of Ukpo Improvement Union and Secretary Ukpo Economic and Investment Board), Chief Francis Amanchukwu ( Special Adviser to the Igwe of Ukpo on Judicial Matters ) among others. It is Worthy to note that Ichie Izuchukwu had received a Fellowship Award of the St. Paul’s Chaplaincy of the Institute of Theology Paul University Awka in 2017 under the Chaplainship of Rev’d Canon Jason Onyeakagbusi.
During his presidential address, Ezeala Raphael Uche described Ichie Izuchukwu as a born humanitarian and servant-leader who never looks back towards contributing his quota in the service of God and appreciates him for being a friend to the institution and his love for Service to humanity.
In his address, Ichie Izuchukwu thanked the Management of the University, the Institute and the Postulants Students’ Government for the Award conferred on him and promised not to relent in his unalloyed support towards the service of God and humanity as he return all glory to God by whose Grace it was made possible.
