Security of lives should be a top priority – Senator Anyanwu
By Princely Onyenwe, Imo
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain in Imo state, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu warns politicians against making unguarded statements capable of jeopardizing the peace and security of the country.
Anyanwu cautions them not to hide under the current security challenges in Nigeria to cause more panic and mayhem by hitting up the polity.
In a release signed by Ikenna ONUOHA, Special Adviser (Media) to Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu and made available to 9News Nigeria on October 10th, 2021 SamDaddy warned desperate Politicians to desist from fueling crisis in a bid to realize their selfish ambitions.
According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari’s led APC administration should be aware that the only way to solve the present situation in Nigeria is to respect the rights of every component unit, and charged the Federal and State Governments to immediately open channels of dialogue to weigh options and adapt where necessary.
He frowned against the use of force on Nigerians by security agencies, noting that in a decent democratic setting, the citizens are placed as a top priority than anything else.
Anyanwu, who represented Imo East in the 8th Senate further advised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and her leaders to stop being clannish over issues affecting Nigerians, advising them to instead look for better ways to address unemployment, high cost of goods, hunger and starvation in the society.
While expressing optimism that the current security threat across the nation will be defeated, also charged President Muhammadu Buhari to be proactive in handling Nigeria’s political and socio-economic flaws.
