Nigeria sprint queen, Blessing Okagbare Ighoteguonor, has stated that she is looking ahead to the 2017 Diamond League in Rabat Morocco, after finishing third behind Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson and Dafne Schpippers at the Muller Anniversary Games London Diamond League last Sunday.
Okagbare acknowledged she is in decent condition at the moment and has confidence of gradually getting back to her best form ahead of this Sunday’s meeting.
The former Olympic and African champion will feature in the women’s 100m along with Ahye Michelle-Lee, Baptistie Kelly-Ann, Brown Aaliyah, Levy Jura, Neita Daryll, Ta Lou Marie-Josée, Elaine Thompson and Christania Williams.
She said, “I’m not going to trust in my health, how I’m running fast or slow. I’m just trusting on God,” Okagbare states in a video posted online by Making of Champions ahead of the meeting in Rabat.
She added, “I’m where I want to be now. I’m where God wants me to be. I have Rabat in Morocco next and after that, I will focus more on the World Championship.”
