High cost of living remains a significant challenge in various African countries, impacting individuals across all income levels and influencing their overall well being.
Factors such as economic policies, inflation rates and the prices of essential goods and services contribute to this issue.
Açcording to Numbeo, the cost of living in different countries is determined by various indices.
These include the Cost of Living Index (excluding rent) which reflects consumer goods prices, like groceries, restaurants, transportation and utilities.
Additionally, there are indices for rent, groceries, restaurants, the Cost of Living Plus Rent Index estimating consumer goods prices with rent included, and the Local Purchasing Power Index”.
