Plateau’s First Lady visits family of quadruplets stuck in Jos hospital over unpaid medical bills (Photos)

After seven years of childlessness, Mr and Mrs Natu Yakubu Makle were blessed with quadruplets but were unable to pay their hospital bills.

On July 31, 2024, Mrs Makle gave birth to quadruplets at Zenith Specialist Hospital in Jos. Due to premature birth, the babies were placed in incubators for 16 days and were provided with CPAP support to aid their breathing.

The couple, originally from Kombihi village in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, but flee their ancestral home due to brutal attack by unknown gunmen, abandoning their farmland for safety.

However, on Monday, September 2, 2024, Her Excellency, Barrister Helen Manasseh Mutfwang, wife of the Executive Governor of Plateau State, alongside Hon. Caroline Panglang Dafur, the Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs, paid a visit to the family at Kufang area, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

In an extraordinary display of kindness, the wife of the Governor cleared the family’s medical bills, which amounted to several millions of Naira, and also provided essential items for the quadruplets, including: Baby clothing, Diapers, and Sanitary kits, Toiletries, Foodstuffs, Tea ingredients, Baby food, etc.

Additionally, she made a generous cash donation to further support the family.

The selfless act by the First Lady is a testaments to her commitment to the welfare and well-being of the people of Plateau State, particularly vulnerable families.

It also serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration to many, demonstrating the power of kindness and generosity.

The First Lady was accompanied by the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Special Advisers, wives of the TIC Chairmen, the PDP Women Leaders, and other stakeholders.

Mr Makle the father of the quadruplets, overwhelmed with joy and visibly in tears, expressed his gratitude to the First Lady and Plateau State Government for the unflinching love.

He said, “The visit is a reminder that we are not alone in our struggle. I am grateful for the support and kindness shown to us by Her Excellency and the Honorable Commissioner, indeed, God has shown us great favour”.
