Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has publicly denied any involvement in the recent violence that saw three local government areas set ablaze.

Speaking during a live appearance on Channels Television today, Fubara sought to clarify his stance on the ongoing crisis, which has gripped parts of the state.

“Everybody knows in Nigeria that I have no hand in what is happening. My meekness is not a sign of weakness.” The governor stated emphatically.

The comments come in the wake of escalating unrest in Rivers State, which has led to widespread destruction of public and private property.

The attacks have stirred political tensions, with various parties pointing fingers at one another.

Governor Fubara, however, maintained his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and stability, urging the people of Rivers State to disregard rumors implicating him in the turmoil.

His statement is seen as an attempt to distance himself from allegations suggesting political motives behind the violence.

Investigations into the incidents continues as the situation remains tense in the affected areas.
