The 18th edition of the Culturati Festival, a vibrant celebration of African culture, heritage, and diversity, will hold from December 5 to 7, 2024, at Freedom Park, CMS Lagos.
The Annual which happens every fourth quarter of the year particularly first week in December in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, and Culturati Africa, promises a unique blend of cultural, creative, and economic initiatives.
The 18th Edition themed, “Celebrate Diversity and Unity,” underscores the festival’s aim to preserve African traditions while fostering empowerment and growth in Nigeria and Africa and at large
Adetola Bakinson, CEO of Culturati Africa, Speaking at the press briefing, described the event as a movement committed to promoting cultural diversity and driving creative and economic development across the African continent.
The 18th Edition of will feature the Culturati Community Library, an initiative advocating for literacy and cultural education amongst Children and Young Adults bringing onboard record holders who have showcase exceedingly greatness not only in Africa but the world at large.The Event which started on the 5th of December and continued Friday 6th December have witnessed about 100 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) showcasing their products and services at an exclusive trade fair in partnership with NaijaBrandChick, providing participants with visibility and access to new markets.
The Convener, Adetola Bakinson revealed that the Culturati Academy has trained over 10,000 youths in digital marketing, video production, and content creation, with plans to equip even more young people during the course of the year Highlighting its dedication to youth empowerment.
The designated venue for this year 18th Edition Freedom Park, will also receive a unique attention to enhance its appeal as a cultural landmark. It known to be a colonial-era prison, the park is now a thriving hub for arts and culture, symbolizing freedom and resilience.
The continuous restructuring plan is aim to attract more tourists, cementing its place as one of Lagos’ premier cultural destinations.
The Convener Adetola Bakinson reiterated that, the Culturati festival is more than just an event; it’s a movement that boosts Lagos’ economy through tourism, celebrates our African identity, and integrates cultural diversity into the state’s development agenda,” The event will wrap up on December 7th 2024 at the same designated venue freedom park Lagos, showcasing African distinctiveness with a gala and award night an avenue to showcase and recognize distinguished individuals for their continuous contribution to the creative and tourism sector.
With high-profile dignitaries and international guests expected, Culturati 2024 is poised to elevate African culture on the global stage while driving innovation and empowerment in the cultural and creative industries in Nigeria and Africa at large
