The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man Ndifreke Isaiah Nelson for alleged murder of his girlfriend, Emem Monday Effanga.
Emem, an Uyo-based make-up artist and guitarist, Fioke’s sister was allegedly strangled and beaten to death by the accuser on February 6, 2025.
Spokesman of the Command, DSP Timfon John, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday March 17, 2025, said the phone belonging to the deceased, was recovered from the suspect.
According to the PPRO, Ndifreke confessed to having strangled Emem with his hands and struck her head on the floor with fist blows before fleeing with her phone.
Ndifreke Isaiah Nelson was arrested in his church, where he ran to hide after commiting the atrocious act, the murdered girlfriend was also a member of same church.
