A long-running online dispute between social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, and cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika (B-Lord) escalated into a legal confrontation that resulted in the businessman’s remand at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.

9News Nigeria reports that the remand followed a petition linked to allegations that B-Lord used VeryDarkMan’s name and image without authorisation in promotional materials connected to business activities.

Court remands B-Lord over impersonation, forgery charges

B-Lord was arraigned before the Federal High Court in Abuja on multiple counts, including alleged impersonation and forgery. The charges were said to stem from claims that promotional flyers, billboards and public announcements suggested VeryDarkMan had entered endorsement arrangements with him.

The court subsequently ordered that the entrepreneur be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending further proceedings in the matter.

In a video he shared on his Instagram status, VeryDarkMan wrote on how B-lord was taken from the court premises to the prison, “LINUS WILLIAMS IFEJIRIKA A.K.A BLORD have been remanded at the Kuje correctional center. He is remanded for 26 days, meaning he will be spending his Easter in prison”

“BLORD was arraigned today 1/4/2026 at the Federal High Court in Abuja on different count charges. As you all know Mr Linus forged flight tickets with my name “Martins Otse” and claimed I was coming to Onitsha to join him in launching his blunt gadget app. He also claimed he paid me 500 million naira to be his brand ambassador. He also claimed I martins Vincent Otse approved billpoint app. He printed a billboard with my face on it and claimed I was his ambassador without my permission. He also printed different fliers with my face on them claiming we agreed. All of these are false,” the post concluded.

Allegations tied to endorsement and promotional claims

Following the court session, VeryDarkMan stated on his social media platforms that the case involved claims that his identity was used without consent in business promotions.

He alleged that materials circulated suggested he had agreed to serve as a brand ambassador and participate in a product launch in Onitsha. He also disputed claims that he approved certain digital business platforms linked to the entrepreneur.

According to him, these representations formed part of the issues presented before authorities.

From social media exchanges to legal action

Before the legal proceedings, both figures had engaged in months of public exchanges across social media platforms, where disagreements between them frequently drew attention online.

However, the dispute shifted into formal litigation after complaints relating to alleged identity misuse were pursued through legal channels.

9News Nigeria reports that the court ordered B-Lord to remain in custody for 26 days pending the next stage of proceedings in the case.
