A 20-year-old man in Jigawa State, Lawisi Safiyanu, is in police custody for allegedly stabbing a 25-year-old customer to death following a dispute over N500 balance from the purchase of a mobile phone.
The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen.
Lawisi Safiyanu is accusing stabbing a man identified Muhammad Abba following a dispute over N500 balance from the purchase of mobile phone.
He said the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday October 1 at Chamo village in Dutse Local Government Area.
According by him, preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased had purchased a mobile phone from the suspect for N1,500, but paid only N1,000 and was unable immediate settle the outs N500.
The unpaid balance reportedly led to argument between the two men, during which Safiyanu allegedly used knife to stab Abba.
The victim was rushed to Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital, Dutse, for treatment but died while receiving medical attention.
The police said the suspect was arrested and the knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered. The Command says investigation has been completed and the suspect has been charged to court to face the law.
