The 56 year old suspect, who is resident in Fegge, Onitsha, is a native of Adazi-Enu in Anaocha Local Government Area of the state.
According to the victim, her father was taking advantage of her after her mother’s death in 2020 and became overly protective of her by not allowing other family members, friends and relatives to come close.
One day, a good samaritan noticed that the young girl was limping, and upon interrogation, she revealed that her father every night had canal knowledge of her and that he threatened to kill her if she ever tells anyone, hence the reason she never raised alarm.
Although the suspect denied the allegation, stating in his defense that his daughter’s inability to work properly is because she fell from a refrigerator, a test conducted at a hospital on the victim says otherwise.
The suspect will be arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Magistrate Court in Akwa on Wednesday.
