A leading socio- political women pressure group in Imo state Nigeria, “Imo Women Matter” has called on the general public, government functionaries and the women to attend their one day conference slated to hold Friday 28-04-2023 in Owerri the state capital.
The group has a remarkable wide range of membership in Imo state and diaspora.
Information brought to our News desk revealed that Imo Women Matter will be having a one day press conference tagged- “INCLUSION OF WOMEN IN GOVERNANCE AND POLITICAL REPRESENTATION IN IMO STATE” tomorrow Friday in Owerri.
This event is targetted at creating public awareness of the affirmative quota of inclusion of women in elective positions and political appointments across the states.
The group is therefore calling on the capacity governor of Imo state, His Excellency Hope Uzodinma to as a matter of inclusion of women in governance, consider Imo Women in his Deputy Governor’s slot, Federal and State Government Appointments, Commissioners and that of Local Government Council Chairpersons and Ward reps.
The group however charged every other political party in the state to adopt same measure to include “Imo women matter” in governance, political representation and policy making.
This noble course by “Imo woman Matter” have to be supported as their press conference holds tomorrow Friday April 28, 2023 in Imo state.
Venue: Igolo Abiam place, 3Harcourt White Street, Ikenegbu Layout Owerri.
