Akwa Ibom NUJ Hails On Development Reportage

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Akwa Ibom State Chapter has hailed the practicing journalists in the state for the level of developmental reportage on the state. The Chairman of the Party, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Akpan while receiving the leadership of the Union led by Comrade Amos Etuk, expressed happiness on the leadership of the union for working for the unity, development and prosperity of the Akwa Ibom through the practice of reporting and showing fairness to political parties and the activities of the government of the state.

“NUJ in Akwa Ibom has shown that it is working for the development of Akwa Ibom State. We acknowledge the efforts of journalists in reporting our activities and promoting our cause. Our party has produced the government of the day since 1999 and in telling the success of these various administrations, we cannot fail to mention the part played by journalists.”

“There will be no break for PDP in Akwa Ibom because the leaders that we have produced in the state have done well to ensure continuity in governance. This is what we have enjoyed over the years. The cooperation from journalists has been there and we appreciate it”, the party chairman said.

“Akwa is PDP beginning from 1999 and till date remains a PDP State”. He informed the press that the party primaries begin on Saturday and will be conducted in line with the party’s guidelines. That all materials from the headquarters will same time be directed according to the party regulations to different wards.
“On Saturday, May 21, we will start the processes of primaries and it is going to be open and very transparent. We appeal to members of the union, as you go round to monitor the processes, do well to report fairly and objectively.”
He expressed hope that the state will host the NEC meeting of the party through the level of development found in the party”.And charged the Union to be constructive and not pull down the people and personalities of the state.

The Chairman of the Union, Comrade Amos Etuk thanked the Chairman Party Elder Aniekan Akpan, for opening doors to Journalists.

“The Union came to consolidate synergy between the party and NUJ. We are beginning to develop and build new steps for the development of our State. We are hopeful there will be a leveling paying field that will bring satisfactory turnout.

NUJ will not be partisans and will consult legal guidance for legal explanation to legal issues that touches the State. Because NUJ is part of building the society for development”.

“We are here to thank you for the great relationship that we have enjoyed with the party. We came to reaffirm the partnership between the union and the party. We have enjoyed a great synergy with the Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State and we have come here to lay this foundation; a foundation of unity and a foundation that will build bridges.”
