“I can see everything turning around, turning around, turning around for my good”.

Remembered this Christian hymn? It was the exact song of praises rendered to God by two widows on Sunday, 18th October, 2020 when their joy kiln were rekindled by Chief Dr. George Nnadubem Moghalu, Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), as he gifted them with houses, putting smiles on their faces.

Handing over the houses which were built from scratch and furnished for the two poor widows, who hails from Umuazu village in Nise, Awka South L.G.A and Ndi Ojukwu Uruagu in Nnewi North Local Government, Chief Dr. Moghalu, while
Commissioning the houses, revealed that:

“The poor widows’ situation of lack of shelter over their heads were brought to his attention by well meaning individuals of their communities. He then reached out to them on this very important need through one of his humanitarian platforms; Zimuzo Foundation, as part of his commitment towards charity and the need to uplift the burden faced by them, as he understands what it means to raise children as a single parent.

He charged the widows not to be deterred by their present situation but rather encourage themselves by holding unto God as he is the “husband to the widow.”

Speaking further, the NIWA Managing Director stated that widows were among the most vulnerable members of the society that needed to be provided for and shown love, just as he urged the society to work to promote laws that protect the right of widows.

For us, it’s a humanitarian service to reach out to the needy. We also cater for education for the orphans so they can realise their potentials. There are those we’re paying their medical bills, including provision of artificial legs for amputees.”

Recieveing the keys of the brand new furnished two-bedroom bungalows as their new homes, the dazed widows, bursting with joy after the apartments were commissioned, said:

“We never expected that God will remember us in this way.
We are thankful to Chief Dr. George Moghalu for bringing joy to our family.
We are very happy and grateful to God for using him to touch us. We did not have a house for many years since the passing of our husbands. But, today God has wiped away our tears and suffering.

“Ohamadike is the angel sent by God to wipe our tears and restore hope to our children. This whole thing to us is like waking up from a dream. God has remembered us through Chief Moghalu.

We pray to God to continue to bless him for helping and supporting the poor hopeless widows like us. We cannot thank him enough because of this wonderful and kind gestures”.

Highlight of the occasion was the dedication and special prayers to God to take possession of the new houses so that they can become houses of blessing, grace and peace of mind to the occupants.

There was also a brief stop-over to the palatial home of His Royal Highness, Igwe Ugochimalueze Romanus Nweke Iloh, the Ise-Nise, to pay homage and show solidarity to him as the custodian and who upholds the beautiful traditions of the ancient Nise Kingdom.
Chief Moghalu praised the monarch for his visionary and purposeful leadership over the years, extoling his maturity and wise counsels as well.

Chief Dr George Moghalu was accompanied by the Crown Prince of Nnewi, Prince Orizu, Chief Osita Anazodo, Members of Zimuzo Foundation, APC Local and Ward Executives in Awka South and host of others who came out in their numbers to witness the work of God.
