APC Crisis: Obaseki gives up hope after closed door negotiations, says was accused of anti-party activities

Edo State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has given up hope in spite of prolonged closed door screening and negotiations with concerned APC state and national stakeholders, in prelude to resolving EDO APC crisis between himself and some party chieftains such as Adams Oshiomhole.

Obaseki was grilled for almost two hours today by the Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja – he subsequently surrendered saying “I can not get justice”.

The arrogant anti-party Governor said, “I have given them all the information they need; the controversial certificate from the University of Ibadan has been tendered.

“Like I said, as a party man I have engine through the screening process but I do not believe that I will get justice.

“One of the questions that were asked was why did I issue a gazette that will prevent the party from performing direct elections in Edo. That did I not see it as an anti-party activity?

Obaseki who arrived the APC National secretariat at about 7:59 pm for the screening left at about 10pm looking hopeless and famished.

  1. Obaseki has destroyed is political skills.how can he brutishly and despotically inaugurate is own legislation.he jdisobeyed d advice of d president,National assembly and Party leadership.Thus,what did Obaseki expect after this contempt.

      • If the outcome of d screening committee disqualifies him as APC bearer, he shouldnt blame Adams. This was d man who raised up from obscurity but having sat on the exotic seat, he wants to bring Adams down.APC has it’s rules 4conduct of any election. If he thinks now he has made money, and power then let him try the direct option which he Adams made to favour him before he won the first election. He is not a good person by my assessment. Let him put himself in Adams position and he is then getting all the treatments he melted on Adams,will he be happy.? He was not advised properly.

Look u can’t bite d finger dat fed u,it was premature 4 Obaseki to fight d party whom,he Tru to power by taking d party to court compelling d mode of primary should b adopted.Its over as far d party ticket is concerned.Dialogueis d only way to resolve issue s as a result of d imbroglio within d party members.

    • Oshiomhole wants he become what tunubu is in Lagos state. The set of people who don’t want to leave this country alone to progress will llive to regret in their life. They will not learn from others what happened to them. In the first tenure Oshiomhole backed Obeseki believing that Obaseki will be a boy to him. I remember that Labour party brought in Oshiomhole, what did Oshiomhole do, he decided to bite the finger that feed him. Laws Cama will always have his way. Let Oshiomhole leave Obaseki alone to finish his tenure.

  4. When u think u can bite the fingers that Fed u bcos u think u ua e the state power in ur hands, then u should expect this. Oshiomole singlehandedly put Obaseki in power but at the end, Obaseki used thesame power given to him by Oshiomole to Ban Oshiomole from entering the state without his permission which is Very Bad! Obaseki took like 2 years insulting Oshiomole on a daily basis, and the worst of it, Obaseki suspended Oshiomole from the party at his Ears level and made all efforts to remove Oshiomole as the National party chairman but failed woefully. Now it’s Oshiomole’s turn to fire his own Bullets… My advise to Obaseki is to run to APGA bcos PDP will not give him their ticket

  6. The major problem APC has is: Party members believe they are superior to the Party. Once a Party is not well disciplined,such Party is treading toward disintegration which I pray should not happen to this our great Party. You can see how many states we lost due to Party indiscipline. APC National Chairman,Adams is doing his job well to certain level. His problem is that he compares unionism to Party politics. He should know when to talk and not be garrulous. As for Obaseki,”boy trying his father’s trousers,catastrophe will be his end”as said by Great Zik.

    • My brother all the political parties in Nigeria have such members that think they are Superior and above the party including APC, PDP, APGA just name it bro they have those Superior members who thinks they are above the party.

    • APC its not a party but a mere groups of men who interest is to go against themself within the party to black themselves, they should learn how to play politics from the opposition party

  14. This country will never get better if we continue like this.
    Oshiomhole contested twice, why won’t they allow Obaseki to contest. Up till now APC as a party have not learn from their past mistakes in other states, during the past elllection and I persive what happened to APC in River state is about to repeat itself in Edo state.
    We are still watching.

    • Obaseki should learn to shoot at it’s target very well bc he missed when he fired. It’s now time for Oshiomole:the worst has not happen to him yet. He thought the state party structure is under hence he could do anything at his will. Though he had betrayed the trust reposed on him. Let’s just wait and see how the whole thing will play out. I am anxiously waiting.

    • So because Oshiomole ruled Edo,Twice, that’s enough reason for Obaseki to rule twice? Why then did Obaseki get power and hunt his predecessor, why did he ask Oshiomole to take permission from him before coming to Edo State, why did he declared 14 law makers seats vacant and allow only 9 legislators!

    • Sincerely speaking if Is ere Jim I would have allow this mishap to happened after winning my second term. Oshiomole can do anything even in other peoples state and you expect him to get battered in his home state./Habbbaaaaaaa. Obaseki I am anxiously waiting to see what will happened in the next 2 weeks.

      • Politics and moral are two opposing words.Obaseki is an ingrate and a poor student of Machiavelli who says crush your enemies totally.There is no man that attained a position in life without getting help from someone.Obaseki has forgotten his source and people care less if he dried up.The unfolding senario is unfolding and when the chips are down he wld realise that he is an orphan.At this point let the president sign the electoral act to accommodate independent candidate.
