The African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), led by its Secretary General, Dr. Omar Farouk Ibrahim, has invited the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to collaborate on the upcoming African Local Content Roundtable in the Republic of Congo.
Dr. Ibrahim extended the invitation during a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omotsola Ogbe, FNSE, at the Board’s liaison office in Abuja on Thursday.
The visit, which took place on the sidelines of the 8th Nigerian International Energy Summit (NIES), aimed to strengthen regional cooperation on Local Content development.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Ibrahim commended NCDMB for its leadership in Local Content development across Africa, stating that Nigeria remains a model for other oil-producing nations.
He emphasized the need for knowledge-sharing and urged NCDMB to play a key role in shaping the agenda for Local Content policies across the continent.
In response, Engr. Ogbe reaffirmed NCDMB’s commitment to promoting Local Content initiatives, stressing the importance of highlighting Africa’s capabilities in the global energy space.
He assured APPO of the Board’s support and welcomed further collaboration to drive sustainable growth in Africa’s oil and gas sector.
The African Local Content Roundtable, organized by APPO in partnership with the Ministry of Hydrocarbons of the Republic of Congo, is scheduled to hold in Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo.
