Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has vowed to spearhead a united coalition to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, while firmly denying rumours of his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This was made known in statement released on Saturday by his media office, Atiku dismissed speculation as “a total fallacy that hold no merit in logic”, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the PDP.

This statement described Atiku as a “principal bonafide member of the PDP”, Nigeria’s main opposition party, and clarified that his primary focus is on building a “robust coalition” of opposition parties to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
