



Bayelsa State Police has arrested a woman named Ogechi Ikechukwu, a resident of Yenagoa, along with a doctor from the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) for defrauding people through fake surgery financial appeal.
Ogechi allegedly conspired with the doctor to deceive unsuspecting individuals on Facebook, falsely claiming she needed money for surgery.
The doctor reportedly assisted her by providing fake medical procedures to make her appeal genuinely ill.
This included administering a fake intravenously drip, conducting a fake blood transfusion, and presenting fabricated scam results to convince the donors of her condition.
Face influencer, Iwaoma Susan Joseph, unknowingly helped raised N800,000, believing the appeal was legitimate.
Both suspects were apprehended after incriminating evidence of their conversations was discovered on Ogechi phone.
They are currently in detention as authorities continue their Investigation into their fraudulent scheme.
