Gov. Hope Uzodimma has ordered for the arrest and prosecution of individuals and groups parading themselves as members of the security task force on petroleum matters in the State.
9News Nigeria reports that Governor Hope Uzodinma has mandated the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro to see to the arrest and prosecution of any person or group of persons found impersonating the State Government tagged petroleum security taskforce.
According to Gov. Uzodimma, Imo State Government is yet to constitute a security task force on Petroleum Matters therefore, anyone or group of people working on such capacity risks being arrested.
In his words, “there is no security task force on Petroleum Matters set up yet with terms of reference and job specifications handed over to anybody or group”.
“The public is advised to be wary of those parading as Government security Taskforce on Petroleum Matters and report them to the appropriate authorities”.
Imo State Government will do everything within its powers to bring to book, those involved in impersonating the Government and its agencies, Gov. Hope Uzodimma assures.
Imo people and petroleum dealers are by this notice informed to call the police for possible arrest on fake task force agents as Imo state Government has directed.
