The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance at the 2019 Imo gubernatorial election, Uche Nwosu, has allegedly been kidnapped by heavily armed men at a thanksgiving church service in his hometown.
Nwosu who is a son-in-law to former Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, was whisked away by some unknown men who arrived in an armoured personnel carrier and Hilux vans in the presence of his family and security retinue.
Some associates of Nwosu have suggested that he wasn’t kidnapped, rather, he was arrested by security operatives acting on the orders of the state governor, Hope Uzodinma.
This has been refuted by the state commissioner for Information and strategy, Declan Emelumba, who describes the reports as ridiculous.
Although, he couldn’t confirm if it was an arrest or a kidnap incident.
When contacted, the police spokesperson for the command Micheal Abattam, said that he was not aware of the incident.
