Suspected political thugs have attacked supporters of the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu at the presidential campaign rally of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, slated to hold today at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
Casualties recorded during the attack could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
Earlier, supporters of the former Abia governor dominated the presidential campaign rally at the Stadium.
Kalu, who is the Chief Whip of the Senate has the biggest support groups in the state— OUK Movement and Reality Organization.
The jubilant supporters of Kalu were seen chanting the names of the APC candidates and fully dressed with materials bearing the face of the Abia North Senator.
