While pondering on the nature of the true Imo State indigenes , I took a trip like Alice in the wonderland albeit very disturbed that the hospitality and tourism industry that ought to have received attention in a state like Imo is ailing because the leadership over time has not given it the desirable attention. A trillion naira question got me palpitating …”Can revival in this sector ever be possible? The answer is an absolute “Yes.” We can see clearer now that 2027 will birth this dream hopefully through a Charles Orie led administration.

Charles Orie will come with professional experience and vantaged position on how to reposition and develop tourism Infrastructure because he knows that overall, tourism and hospitality will be a significant contributor to Imo State’s economy, providing economic benefits, cultural exchange, and community development opportunities.

Tourism is connected to critical infrastructural development, which, through a good road network , social amenities, seaports, airports accessibility and connectivity, will attract tourists to visit , invest and celebrate the scope of Imo State’s
cultural , traditional, natural Heritage. Imo will honour destination events.

Charles Orie, as a businessman, has always looked for ways to supporting Local businesses and communities whose art, culture and history will delight the world. The world will troop to Imo. The encouragement this will bring to entrepreneurship will foster tourism marketing, tourism promotion ,community engagement and participation . Obviously, tourists will be attracted because with infrastructure in place, good access to health care and security of both Imolites and tourists are guaranteed.

With a Charles Orie, private sector chieftains which is a climate he has excelled in will interact better with the public sector towards developing and effectively managing
tourism infrastructure thereby encouraging investors in tourism. Foreign currency will boast the economy because development would have penetrated the rural underdeveloped communities.

With a man of experience, training , capacity development, professionalism , enhanced skills , knowledge, and business consciousness will be institutionalized in Imo State. The economy will enjoy a boost for growth, foreign and national cum rural cultures will interface causing increase in revenue, employment for the youths, celebration of our cultural heritage, preservation and improvement of cultural heritage. Clearly, Charles Orie is the man who can drive these opportunities because he has the expertise wand that play a significant role in a state’s economy contributing in several ways.

Imo State deserves a right just like other states to enjoy tourism generated tax revenue for the state through hotel taxes, sales taxes, and several other taxes all of which add up to
enhance the state’s image and reputation, attracting businesses, investors, and residents.

The hospitality and tourism industry will bounce back adapting international best standards with Chief Charles Orie. Imo earnestly yearn for his leadership

2027 is staring at us and we must get a Charles Orie to rescue our Imo.
