I’m Yathreb Musa, a policy advocate and a United Nations delegate.

I was born on the 25th of July, 1994 and I’m a native of Kano state.

Recounting my journey, I started with great resolution and nothing less than a backbone and so far I can confidently show content in my journey.

I started working while studying at the University as a Customer Service Agent at Vodafone International Services in the United Kingdom. Then I subsequently worked as a tutor and organizer at St. Andrews refugee camp in Cairo, Egypt.

During my stay in Cairo I learned a lot about utilization and management and upon my graduation from Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt in 2015, I quickly embarked on a pioneering odyssey for my career in policy and strategic advocacy.

As formidable as this journey was, I never displayed any form of disdain, I kept pushing and insisting.

My drive to accomplish my goals wasn’t an effortless one and that’s why every little achievement has only spurred me to push more. After being a Translator and Interpreter at the United Nations office in Egypt, I ventured into the media space by being a TV presenter for Al Hudah TV, Cairo and this wasn’t one without uphills.

I wouldn’t dispute the disappointment in the policy framework of the society, I mean universally. I consider this disappointment, an opportunity for innovation amongst young Nigerians with genuine intentions.

When I represented the United Nations (UN) department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) at the committee on INTER- GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS, NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR POLICY AND STRATEGIC STUDIES, I witnessed what they call a blissful yet structural and comprehensive push for more policy actions and solutions.

This additionally impacted my enthusiasm and knowledge in socio-economic policies and analysis. Looking at where I am now, I can confidently attribute innovation and Dunkirk spirit to the Nigerian youth. We can apply the positive energy and spirit to our system.

I’m also a licensed insurance sales agent. This has made me a social networker. Using my bilingual abilities in both English and Arabic, I can be adaptive and relative with different types of persons or groups.

It is never an easy task to manage demands and impute substantive results. Yet, I do not see this as an unbeatable task.

However, at this stage, government agencies and departments have a formal responsibility for policy implementation.

I wouldn’t be indifferent to rendering my services and knowledge when needed. We can make our home great if we are conscious of innovators and developers.
