A Nasarawa State High Court sitting in Akwanga, Nasarawa State has sentenced one Gambo Adamu to death by hanging for murder.
The presiding judge of the Court, Justice Mustapha Ramat, delivered the judgement on Tuesday December 31 in Akwanga.
Justice Ramat found the convict guilty of causing the death of one Hassan Ahmed in Akwanga by harvesting his organs.
Speaking shortly after the judgement, the state’s Attorney- General, Dr. Labaran Shaibu Magaji described the judgement as victory for the people of the State and a deterrent to those who would engage in such nefarious activities.
According to him, the heinous crime committed by the convict earned him the death sentence.
The judgement, Barrister Magaji said is a testament to his commitment to justice and his efforts to curb criminal tendencies.
It would be recalled that the Attorney-General since assumption of office has been making waves in the justice system, exhibiting a strong and unwavering commitment to implementing the administration of justice in Nasarawa State.
Barrister Magaji’s dedication to combating human rights violation and terrorism has also been commended by critical stakeholders and residents of the State.
The landmark conviction secured by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to wrap up the year 2024 has send a strong message against criminal activities in the State.
